Hi, I'm Brian!

I am a Central Florida Plein Air (outdoor) and studio painter. Although I no longer live there, I am originally from Ohio, and in many ways, I am a midwesterner at heart. Art and its many forms of expression have always been a part of my life. When I was younger, there were seasons when I spent hours drawing or painting.

In 2014, I began my journey toward a more focused effort in painting. I first started in acrylics, primarily painted in the studio. A few years later, I took an oil painting workshop with Kate Carney and immediately began the switch to mainly oil paints. A few years later, I painted for the first time outdoors and fell in love with the experience. When you paint outdoors, on location, with the sights and sounds, it becomes part of your human experience. I can vividly remember the experience of every Plein air piece that I paint.

As a painter, I hope to capture the beauty of moments, places, emotions, and experiences. This work requires digging into my personal experiences and the feeling of others to land on a place that represents the greatest depth of empathy. While the subject matter of my paintings varies, the heart remains the same - exploring and capturing glimpses of the world we all inhabit.

When I am not painting, you can find me spending time with my incredible wife and daughters, snuggling with our dog, Waffles, pastoring a church, or providing leadership in the nonprofit world through an educational organization.
